Why We Are Bringing People Back Together in 2025
In 2016 I felt a pull to teach and help folks avoid the mistakes I had already paid the dumb tax for. We quietly launched a program called Diffactory Direct (D2) on March 31, 2017, and looking back now, it foreshadowed and tested what we are launching today, November 20, 2025.
We had people driving across town and walking into our office just to sit in our conference room and learn—no Zoom, no Skool, no Circle—just humans in chairs, coffee, and ten modules we put together on marketing.
I dug up some of those old recordings not long ago.
They’re hilarious. Here’s one I’m updating for 2025
We were a small team trying to build an education platform before education platforms actually existed. We had to make everything from scratch: the back-end, the delivery system, the follow-up. Duct tape and hope.
Fast-forward to today: platforms like Circle, Skool, and HighLevel have finally caught up to what we were trying to do eight years ago. They make community, learning, and connection possible without having to reinvent the internet first.
After a lot of thinking, conversations, and plenty of my own trial-and-error, it felt right to fire things back up in a different way.
Not just “here’s a course,” or “here’s a tool,” but something more meaningful.
A place to bring together the kind of people I’ve crossed paths with over the past 30 years. A space to actually think together, challenge each other, share knowledge, and get better at business and life.
It’s cool and scary to see it come full circle. We started with people physically walking into a shared office in Lee’s Summit, MO. Now we get to serve people anywhere in the world.
Same mission, better tools, more scars underneath it all.
Instead of duct tape and hope, we’ve got a real platform and a real community forming around it.
It feels like we finally get to do what we were trying to do back in 2017.
Only now, the world’s actually ready for it.
In fact I feel like it needs it more than ever.
See you on the inside
